Jean-Baptiste Caron questions the laws of physics and mechanics, handling extremes to put them in tension, relying on notions of gravity, weightlessness, density and lightness. He formulates tenuous propositions that touch the universal and which he attempts to make perceptible by means of a vocabulary of simple and poetic forms. He invites the viewer to question their visual perceptions, sometimes pushing the limits of the visible. It disturbs our certainties with imperceptible shifts from one state to another: transformation, evolution, involution, in-between or infra-thin.

Produced in connection with the performance ‘The laboratory of variables’, for the Festival Island # 4, in October 2013.
