Inspired by the enigmatic polyhedron featured in one of the most famous engravings by Albrecht Dürer’s, Melencolia I, dated 1514 and interpreted as an allegory describing the melancholy in the artist’s creation, John Cornu makes a sculptural interpretation of this polyhedron. A creative process that erase borders between presentation and representation. Producing from what already exists is one of the artist’s creative principles.
