234 is published at the end of the traveling exhibition “Le Tour de France 1969 by Eddy Merckx” organised by the Cneai between 2016 and 2018. The publication brings together 67 black and white photographs from contact sheet 234 by Jef Geys. These photographs were taken during the 1969 Tour de France, the year of Eddy Merckx’s first victory, which took place on July 20, the same day as man’s first step on the moon.
